Considering the leaks and rumors we’ve seen lately, it’s no secret anymore that Google plans to release a 32GB Nexus 7 version at some point in the coming weeks/months.
In fact, today we hear from ITProPortal that the 32GB Nexus 7 will be officially listed this week in the UK in Argos’ Christmas gift guide, with a price starting at £199.99. That’s hardly a surprise, as the model was already officially listed on Carphone Warehouse’s Spanish website just a few days ago (image above).
According to the publication, the 32GB Nexus 7 will replace the 16GB version, while the 8GB flavor is expected to continue selling for £159.99 in the region.
As you may already know, the Nexus 7 will face some increasing competition this holiday season, not only from the new Kindle Fire line but also from upcoming devices such as the iPad mini, a direct threat to budget Android tablets, and the first Windows 8 tablets, including the Microsoft Surface. Therefore, it’s no wonder to see Google ready to sell a 32GB Nexus 7, especially considering that one of the main turn offs of the current Nexus 7 models is the limited amount of available storage – the lack of microSD expansion also doesn’t help.
However, we have no idea when Google will publicly unveil the new Nexus 7 version, although that should happen at some point in the near future, maybe during the LG Nexus 4 announcement event, considering Argos’ Christmas gift guide publishing schedule.
